About Ashland Prep
started Ashland Prep in 2019 after nearly a decade working inside traditional test prep companies.
At the time, online tutoring was widely treated as a lower-quality alternative. Ashland was built in direct opposition to that idea. From day one, we’ve been online-only, emphasizing Socratic instruction, collaboration, and psychologically driven test prep.
Improved scores are a byproduct of our work, not the primary objective. Our core focus is helping students recognize and regulate their involuntary responses when stakes are high and questions are ambiguous. That self-awareness compounds far beyond standardized testing.
We work with a small, highly selective group of tutors who pair top percentile scores with exceptional emotional intelligence. Capacity is intentionally limited to preserve feedback quality and program integrity. Ashland is a member of the National Test Prep Association and the League of Tutors.
